Based in Dubai, Mr. Fourrier’s first role with Majid Al Futtaim was to manage existing Hotel assets to maintain Majid Al Futtaim hotel properties world-class standards and ensuring the development plan of new hotels brings an added value to the investment. Majid Al Futtaim hotels portfolio includes 12 assets based in the UAE and Bahrain with close to 3,371 rooms and suites, and more than 1.5 million guests annually.
In his current role, Mr.Fourrier is heading the MAF properties Food and Beverage strategy, driving the next generation of F&B, Malls, Communities and Hotel concepts and development.
A passionate and experienced global Hotelier and Restaurateur, with an impressive over 30 years in the industry, Jean-Luc has built expertise around the globe, working in over 15 countries across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
Mr. Fourrier used his specialty in Food and Beverage to develop a world-leading approach at Majid Al Futtaim hotels and restaurants. He honed his skills with over 20 years in Asia Pacific, previously working as Vice President, Food and Beverage Asia Pacific and Middle East, for Hilton Hotels & Resorts. Before joining Majid Al Futtaim – Properties, Mr. Fourrier successfully held many leading hotel operations positions on both a national and regional level before leading his own company, JLF + Associates based in Singapore.
He attended Cornell University in New York, where he earned Hotel Management certificate in hospitality and tourism.
Majid Al Futtaim owns and operates 21 shopping malls, 12 hotels and three mixed-use communities, with further developments underway in the region. The shopping malls portfolio includes Mall of the Emirates, Mall of Egypt, City Centre malls, My City Centre neighbourhood centres, and four community malls which are in joint venture with the Government of Sharjah. The Company is the exclusive franchisee for Carrefour in 38 markets across Middle East, Africa and Asia, and operates a portfolio of more than 175 outlets in 15 countries.
