Dubai, UAE. 26 November, 2017. The Global Restaurant Investment Forum 2018 (GRIF), the annual meeting place for the international restaurant investment community organised by Bench Events and powered by Michelin, will host the 2018 edition of the Food and Travel GCC Awards on Wednesday 14 March at Palazzo Versace Dubai.

GRIF, which will be held from 12-14 March 2018 at Palazzo Versace Dubai, will bring together more than 300 investors, owners, franchisors and senior hospitality professionals to facilitate investment decision-making within the international restaurant space.

The thought-provoking conference programme, designed to deliver inspiration, insight and opportunities to the global restaurant investment community, will culminate in a celebration of the Middle East’s leading F&B entrepreneurs and establishments at the 2018 Food and Travel Awards organised by Food and Travel Magazine.

“The discerning public have made their voices heard, with over 2.15 million verified votes cast, choosing an elite band of finalists and ensuring the 2018 Food & Travel GCC Awards genuinely reflect not only public opinion but expert judgement too; a

testament to the depth and quality of the region’s flourishing hospitality industry, confirming the Gulf’s place on the culinary and tourism map,” observed Francesca Jackson, Chair of the Food and Travel GCC Awards Panel. “Food and Travel’s expert panel of hotel and restaurant inspectors work tirelessly reviewing, researching and revisiting the finalists in their exhaustive and unbiased search for perfection; ensuring the Food and Travel GCC Awards remain the most sought-after awards in the region,” she added.

Categories include Hotel of the Year, Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, and The Carême Award, which in 2017 was won by celebrated Chef Greg Malouf, who launched Zahira in Dubai to great acclaim earlier this year.

The finalists selected by the public vote for the 2018 Food and Travel GCC Awards will be announced on November 30, 2017.

Jennifer Pettinger-Haines, Managing Director Middle East, Bench Events, organiser of GRIF, said: “We are delighted to partner with the prestigious Food and Travel Arabia Awards, which have established a highly credible reputation over the years. We are looking forward to inviting our GRIF delegates to close another successful forum with this exciting celebration.”

Salah Alhaiki, ME Director, Food and Travel Arabia, commented: “We are immensely proud to partner with GRIF, an event that shares our ethos to deliver the ultimate standards for the Industry, not just here in the region, but across the globe.”

GRIF 2018 will also feature practical workshops and masterclasses, roundtable debates, culinary tours of leading restaurants and a showcase for new restaurant concepts looking to internationalise, expand or launch their first venture.

GRIF 2018 also once again has the support of The Michelin Guide, which provides a showcase of gourmet dining in 28 countries worldwide and highlights the culinary dynamism of a country, as well as new trends and emerging young chefs.
